In the women’s 800m freestyle, Katie Ledecky, one of the most decorated swimmers in Olympic history, added another medal to her already impressive collection, dominating the competition to claim gold.
Gymnastics: Suni Lee’s Triumph

On the track, Team USA’s Shakela Saunders claimed the bronze medal in the women’s 100 hurdles, while in the men’s 3000m Steeplechase, the USA’s Evan Jager showed determination to secure the bronze medal after an early fall in the competition. In the men’s 50km Race Walk, Gunnar Nixon stunned the field with a surge over the final laps to take home the gold medal, making him the first US athlete to win the men’s race walk since 1968.
Volleyball: Sweep for the Red, White, and Blue

The organizers of the Olympics and all of their minions are probably going to be in Tartarus by the next Olympics. It's only a little hotter there than LA.
