Title: Intermittent Fasting May Increase Heart Disease Risk, New Study Suggests
In a recent study published in the journal 'Cell Metabolism', researchers from the University of Southern California (USC) have found that intermittent fasting may nearly double the risk of death from heart disease. This finding challenges the popular belief that intermittent fasting can promote heart health.
The study, which was conducted over a period of 18 years, involved 100,000 participants. Researchers found that those who practiced intermittent fasting, specifically the 5:2 method (eating normally for five days a week and restricting calorie intake to 500-600 calories for the remaining two days), had a 44% higher risk of developing heart disease and a 61% higher risk of death from heart disease compared to those who did not fast.

Let me guess sugar is the cure lol FOH! 1:19
So not eating the greasy burger doubles your chance of dying of a heart disease more than actually eating the burger … sure buddy
Heart disease? So, people back in the day just use to die of heart attacks left and right? Doesn't heart disease come from eating to much ..lol
Why even report on crap studies?
Being obese is dangerous. Intermittent fasting isn't. But intermittent fasting works even better when you're eating healthy !!
This is ABSOLUTE nonsense!!! I’m not even a doctor, and I know more about health and nutrition that these “Doctors”! These two ladies, who obviously know nothing about health and nutrition, summed it all up in this 3 minute interview. Pretty pathetic.
If you eat fast foods and processed foods with a bunch of sodium and trash carbs. Fasting or not you still have a really high risk of dead due to heart disease. Its 2024 we all know what a paided study is.
Straight up LIES
Intermittent fasting is better eating. Americans are eating themselves to death.
This makes zero sense….more interested in the comments 👀

Most important thing taught in medical school is “play the game or get out!” Sponsored by Pfizer
Buddhist monks have been fasting for 2500 years.
NBC news really proves whose pocket they are in.
If fasting was not beneficial they would not be attacking it. When was the last time you saw a study on the effects of artificial sweeteners?
Good old NBC reporting BS.
LOL never heard of anyone doing IF who died from heart-related diseases. This is such BS.
IF reversed so many health problems for me and many more people. The food industry just hates losing $$$
‘News’ like this should be illigal and I would be so ashamed if I’d work for a company that produced news like this.
20,000 Americans isn't a study. It's an opinion
The food industry is attempting a smear campaign again. Just like the corn industry aired those high fructose corn syrup commercials 10 years ago in an effort to distort the truth. They always make the person critical of HFCS look stupid Conveniently, the corn industry quietly withdrew these commercials.
Truth: Saturated fat and cholesterol doesn't cause heart disease. Trans fat and insulin causes heart disease.
