  • I lived in Hollywood, FL east of US 1 from Nov 1955 to Nov 2005 and never saw any flooding. I moved because too many people were moving into the once beautiful city we had and too much concrete and asphalt was being laid on the ground. When the politicians began to prefer money over safety, that is when I moved. I saw the beginning of disaster. Politicians allowed greedy land developers to fill in marsh land and land where the run off water used to drain and build houses and tall buildings to the point that the sewer drains are not able to handle the flooding. Even though I am not pleased with were I live now, I am happy that I had enough foresight to leave when I did. Never, never when I lived in Hollywood all of the 50 years was there any horror like there is now. Too many people, too many vehicles, too much concrete, and NO DRAINAGE. Nature is taking back Florida from the greedy politicians, land developers, and investors. Where did the City Engineers go or are there only uneducated people left?

  • That poor fellow that was going to work and his car stalled in the high water should have know better than to drive through high water.

  • If the weatherman wasn't such a liar he would not have to go out and stand in the weather just to prove to the viewers that it really happened.

  • É preciso que o governo dos Estados Unidos da América faça política para a reciclagem ♻️ das baterias dos carros elétricos sem isso o governo dos Estados Unidos da América estará fazendo crime humanitário contra os estados unidos

  • Many people are still blind to see and understand what's really going on around the world. It's time to wake up! God send us warning signs that we must get right with God before it's too late. These terrible disasters are getting worse and worse as we see the day approaching to the soon return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. REPENT…BELIEVE….SAVED.🙏❤️

  • This is "Pluvial flooding" from stupidity of concretizing everything. LA river and rivulates have been a concrete mess and so have the streets. There is very little urban green cover and soil to allow water to recharge and return to ground.

  • Hollywood has been flooding since the late 80s. Nothing to see here. Hallandale are in broward county is the same. I live here.

  • I used to ride my bike down Johnson street in the 80's and I never saw that much water. They need more storm drains now I guess.

  • Smart woman don't risk your car.go get a cup of coffee or hot chocolate while it reseceds.

  • Its a major flood damaging property and taking lives and still watching this video the traffic is heavy. All I can say is “thoughts and prayers” are waisted on these fools that can’t shelter in place for a couple of days

  • Weather patterns are historic and when you build where there used to be marsh and wetlands, there's due to be situations like this because the land is now covered in cement and roadways.
*Drainage and consideration for high waters (aka, 'elevated properties') is the only sensible solution.

  • That'll be the climate emergency that nobody likes to talk about… Keep on consuming, everybody, don't hurt the economy…!!

  • Solution to the problem = put on a rain jacket and ride a bicycle to work. You can pedal through 2 feet of water with no problems.

  • i understand alot of ppl dont have the means to move. but if you have enough to keep going thru this time after time, you should consider relocating somewhere else, and yes i know its your hometown where you were born or just love, but this is nuts

  • New Mexico is far more beautiful with a nicer weather and cheap cost of living than Florida. Florida is overrated and expensive!
