### 3. WWDC 2024 Launch

Given the current state of technology and the pace of development at Apple, it is possible that the M4 Ultra Mac could be announced at WWDC 2024. This would be in line with Apple's typical release cycle for new MacBook Pro models, which usually occur every two years. However, it is important to note that this is purely speculation and there is no official confirmation from Apple regarding the existence or release date of the M4 Ultra Mac.

  • Apple should have stuck to making products, not components

  • Ideally a company should launch a product line with the general consumer version and the halo version if they cannot launch all models at the same time. The halo version is for marketing and the relatively few people who legitimately need the performance, and the general consumer version tends to be what sells the most and needs to be available on launch. At this point, if I were Apple, I'd really be considering ditching the entire Macbook Air line since the Macbook Pro offers the exact same processor configuration, just with a fan. Even the size isn't noticeably different anymore. At this point, if you're going to bother paying for tooling an entire production line for a lower-end product then they should do like what they did back in 2010 and just make a polycarbonate cased Macbook with a stamped metal frame inside and offer it with the actual base model processor configuration, RAM, and internal storage. No other options available, this is for people who legitimately don't need extra performance, they just need a computer from the current generation to browse the web. Include an SD slot and you don't even need to worry about limited internal storage, since you can buy decently fast 512GB microSD cards for a pittance these days. Also, I miss the aesthetic of the white Macbooks. Hell, they could even bring back the old iBook monicker for them if they really wanted to get nostalgic.

Let me just be frank: the people who buy a Macbook Air are probably as well off buying an iPad Pro with the magic case. Same chipset. Apple really needs to consolidate their Mac product line back down to a reasonable number and configuration of offerings. Back in 2010 they had the polycarbonate cased Macbooks, the aluminum Macbook Pro in 13 and 15 inch sizes, the Mac mini, the iMac, and the Mac Pro. I'd even be fine if they ditched the iMac as well. The Mac Mini Studio or whatever it is sounds like a fine product at first glance until you realize that literally all of the extra size does not get you upgradeable components, nor does it give you larger internal storage options. Back in the day, you'd reasonably suspect that a device that chonky should at least come with an extra HDD bay. And it totally could. Apple could even sell some proprietary storage shit for it if they wanted to and I'd be entirely on board. They could use some of the space on the back of the device to add removable NVMe or USB 4.0 storage devices in little modules that don't consume rear I/O and can come in capacities rivalling those Kioxia enterprise 2.5" SSDs. Like, here's the deal: Apple already makes their own storage controllers and they source their own NAND. Might as well make SSDs and sell them to consumers for an enterprise price tag. Plus, you could just use the same arrangement, but with more slots on the Mac Pro and people like me would be even happier to see the effort at making the device more professional. Plus, if it does use a USB 4.0 compatible storage controller, then those removable modules could be used as camera storage for professional camera systems capable of outputting to USB storage devices.

  • NOPE. Not a chance. Apple doesn't always do what would appear to make sense for users. They chase the MONEY. They may release an iMac or Mac Mini… but they are absolutely going to update the MacBooks to M4/M4 Pro.. But you are correct, they do want to get out of the M3 as soon as they can, and there will be no M3 Max or Ultra. But I think the M4 Max and Ultra won't be available for a while, so no Studio or Pro this WWDC. And GODS know what they are going to do with the Mac Pro.

  • You forget the iMac is M3. And I don’t think they will refresh that fir a while.

  • Waiting for Mac Studio since last year October and will definitely buy one if Apple brings m4 version. Else will go for a intel nvidia based system.

  • If they announce an m4 Mac Studio on June 10, will it start shipping immediately or when?

  • I want 10GbE with SFP+ on a new Mac Studio. As Option at least or dump RJ45 for 10GbE

  • Apple should reveal the whole M4 Chip family, so developers can buy M4 / M4 Pro desktops to build AI apps, assuming there is a huge improvement in terms of AI capability for M4 family.

  • I want a M4 mini pro but with 64G .

  • Please do not forget the best Desktop of them ALL The iMac 24 and the iMac 27 and they have to Lauch soon…because too much delays 2020-2024

  • Thanks for another smart, well-researched video! Can't wait to see what we see at WWDC — M4 desktop Macs will be really cool! (But I'm still not holding my breath.) Will we hear an unprecedented "coming soon" from Apple?? 😉 Whenever they come, my fingers are crossed that the M4 Pro-Max-Ultra are going to be amazing. And bye-bye ~N3B.

  • If China takes over Taiwan, as they are itching to do, you can kiss all this goodbye. They want the high tech sector Taiwan offers the world, so it can hold us all hostage.

That's what happens when US and European tech companies spend all their money on stock buybacks and executive pay rather than innovating themselves at home.

  • How about real world usage tests and not just bench scores? Hmmm?

  • More hardware from Apple and no attempts to correct software bugs in their own applications since Cook took over. Anyone with any hint of intelligence is frustrated on a daily basis with all of the bugs in Apple software. Unless they own stock and then you won't get a straight answer out of any of them. Tim Cook should never have been hired and needs to go… yesterday. It doesn't matter how fast the Apple chips are if they are powering terrible buggy software… which is happening.

  • This is a pretty great theory! Now I start to believe something huge may be coming to WWDC.

  • Do you think the MacBook Pro m4 max is coming out soon?

  • This actually isn’t a new strategy. This is very similar to what they did back in the PowerMac days. A lot of it had to do with power consumption back then but the bigger, better, faster chips always started in the Mac Pros and trickled down to the notebooks.

  • Apple’s ‘M’ game has been outrageously abused, so much that I’ve lost a ton of respect for the company generally. They should just succumb to the upgrade devil and do one every week or so. Their own silicon design should have resulted in favorable prices, wonderfully conceived specials, and the accompanying market dominance. None of those will come to pass as long as they just play head games with their buyers, insulting their intelligence, really.

  • man, the planned obsolescence on apple is getting out of hand

  • And yet again; the iPad will get overshadowed with no proper fundamental overhauls/changes in software

  • These explanations have no explanatory powers. They’re just correlations.

  • I appreciate the idea, but you fail to account for the fact that the Mac Pro and Mac Studio sell in very low numbers and simply will sometimes skip a generation as a result. The M4 Ultra will come next year to these machines and obviously no M3 update for them.

  • Mark Gurman makes these types of YouTubers obsolete…

  • Noone needs 256GB RAM any time soon. Unless loading LLM into it…

  • someone at apples knows you know their plan …sounds legit. Big love!

  • Super powerful M4 with 8GB RAM and 256 storage for only 999

  • Will be nice to see well priced with more ram, mac mini or mac studio.

  • Can’t wait for the MacBook Pro M4 Max to replace the M1 Pro

  • I will forever dislike all your videos for always misleading viewers.

  • Your flagship products should always be faster than anything else in the product line.

  • I would love to see a Mac mini that's powered through the display port[or whatever it's called] with wifi7. Speed-wise, a little faster would be cool too. Actually, I know this is a stretch, but I'd also like to see a bottom access slot where you can add a m.2 drive as a secondary storage source.

  • Everything you said makes perfect sense…which is why they won’t do it.

  • thanks for the inf. I agree for 100% and we can expect something next month, really
