They use pinyin to spell their Chinese names as Jinchao Wei and Wenheng Zhao. People who were born in communist China use pinyin. American-born Chinese don't use pinyin.
Chinese from communist China who aren't political refugees came to the U.S. to seek material gains. They became U.S. citizens to gain better access to employment, education, etc, They regard the U.S. as a place of "temporary" residence and China as their actual country. They were born in China, grew up in China, indoctrinated in communism since they were babies. They don't assimilate to American mainstream and don't have the same values as people who are American-born. If they travel back to China to visit every other year, every year, or more often then it is usually a tell tale sign that they wouldn't be loyal to the U.S. If there is a war between China and the U.S., they will chose China.
Rule of thumb: Be wary of people who were born in China, grew up in China, and came to the U.S. as adults.
I wonder if they take their American citizen tests in Chinese or in English?

This looks more like paranoia and discrimination than a solid case of espionage. Reminds me of how some Japanese-American servicemen were treated back in WW2. Unfounded allegations pushed as facts without any solid proof.
Wasn't it just a few years ago where a couple of chinese-american scientists were convicted of espionage but then later released because there was no proof and only allegations? The U.S government apologized to these scientists. But the damage has been done. These scientists even though exonerated had their reputations destroyed and their careers ended. The U.S gov't should have at least given them compensations to last them their lifetime commensurate to their salaries before they were wrongly accused.
