Extreme Trades – Episode 1: Casting Off | Dangerous Jobs Documentary World’s Largest Floating Fish Factory: …
Title: Unveiling the Perilous Profession: Modern-day Mariners Navigating the Most Dangerous Jobs on the High Seas
In the realm of extreme trades, few professions are as perilous as those on the high seas. A recent episode of 'Extreme Trades' delves into the most dangerous jobs at sea, offering a glimpse into the lives of modern-day mariners who brave treacherous conditions to keep global commerce afloat.
The fishing industry, once a mainstay of coastal communities, has become a hazardous occupation due to the increasing use of larger vessels and the depletion of fish stocks. This has led to longer voyages, pushing crews to their limits and increasing the risk of accidents. The episode highlights the perilous journey of crab fishers in Alaska, where they face icy waters, towering waves, and the ever-present threat of capsizing.
Another dangerous occupation is offshore oil rig work. Despite advancements in safety measures, the industry remains fraught with risks. The Deepwater Horizon disaster in 2010 is a stark reminder of the potential catastrophes that can occur. The episode explores the high-pressure environment of offshore oil rigs, where workers face the constant risk of explosions, fires, and equipment failures.
The shipping industry, responsible for transporting 90% of the world's goods, is also fraught with danger. Crew members on container ships face long hours, limited rest, and the constant threat of collisions, fires, and sinking ships. The episode focuses on the crew of a container ship crossing the treacherous Strait of Malacca, one of the world's busiest and most dangerous shipping routes.
The episode underscores the importance of these dangerous jobs, highlighting the role they play in global commerce. However, it also raises questions about the safety measures in place and the need for better protection for these modern-day mariners. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, it is crucial to ensure the safety of those who keep our global economy running.
In light of recent events, such as the capsizing of a fishing vessel off the coast of Nova Scotia, the episode serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by mariners. It calls for a renewed focus on safety measures and

Abandoned at Sea.
This is really interesting and close up insight. Would suggest if doing a future similar project don't use people reading the translation like off a script. It sounds so unnatural and doesn't match the normal expression of a person speaking, nor really sync with the atmosphere around the video moments of the peoplee moving and talking.
where the subtitle?
Fascinating to me from Australia
I was 20 years old then.
I wonder if they are allowed to have women on board for intercourse?
