AMD Ryzen 9000 Specs, Release Date, and Pricing Leak

Thursday, March 29, 2023

AMD's upcoming Ryzen 9000 series CPUs could be the first desktop processors to leverage the company's new Zen 5 architecture.

The Ryzen 9000 series is expected to be based on AMD's Raphael architecture, which is built on TSMC's 5 nm process node. The company's upcoming Ryzen 7000 series (Raptor Lake-P) will be built on TSMC's 6 nm process node, so the jump to 5 nm for the Ryzen 9000 series could be significant.

A recent leak suggests that the Ryzen 9000 series could be released in Q1 2024, which would be a little over a year after the Ryzen 7000 series is expected to launch. The Ryzen 9000 series is expected to include models with up to 16 cores and 32 threads, and it could feature clock speeds of up to 5.8 GHz.

  • […] AMD Ryzen 9800X3D is based on the Zen 4 architecture and utilizes the 3D V-Cache technology, which significantly enhances its performance […]

  • I’ve been waiting and saving very slowly since 2020 to build a vey high end PC and the wait for this next gen is excruciating! I want to build one now but I feel like I should wait for these new cpus and gpus to release before landing on a build spec

  • i REALLY like my 7950x. If it has single core up to 6ghz, i might upgrade for the gaming performance. that said, ive had my 7950x since a month or two after its launch last year. How much money could i even expect off it after reselling?

  • the RAM Speed aka Mhz never have been interesting..in fact an old DDR2 can have a 20 ns speed a timing no even a DDR5 6400 can ever reach… i you cant hold the low timings while "oc" the speed aka raising some speed than the you understand what i mean … while everyone is loking the same way at thing – we know that what most people believer is 99% inacurate aka wrong — im looking at this way…. the sweet spot are is 70% timing and 30% Mhz ..try to find it

  • I'm curious about the 9700g which might have a strix point igpu. And the 9600g has hawk point? @_@ they should release this asap. And strix halo 😐 yum yum.

I'm not a laptop guy so no 8850hs(strix point) for me.

🙁 I'm making a small form factor strix point prebuild.

(I have itx case…. High speed ddr5 ram…. Storage….. A psu for small form factor…. But do not have the 9700g and the upcoming motherboard.)

It's going to be better than my current pc which has 1050 non ti 10100f. 😅

  • Does it make sense to upgrade my r5 3600 non x no r5 7600x right now? or should I just wait?

  • I feel like my 5950x is still good snough but man… I wanna upgrade after watching this!

  • Im happy i bought 6400mhz ram for my 7600 (was cheaper than 6000mhz bcs 6400mhz was a cheaper brand) and i have no issues, now ill have the best memory for zen5 so im glad this works

  • the only thing i want to know about is how hot itll run. way more watts expected in comparison to the 7000 i just hope its not even more hot…

  • my advice? wait for the new ddr6 ram as well, just do a full upgrade when they release xd cpus and the 5000 series gpus, get a full upgrade at once, the new smaller die for cpus is worth it alone imo

  • I'm expecting closer to 20% increase.

  • if you're getting an RTX 5090, you should start looking at CPU and platform? No, for an RTX 5090 build you should start looking at a mortgage, lol.

  • 7700x to 9000 should be good. Can’t wait for it

  • According to rumors, the reason the Zen 5 9950X and 9950X3D have a 46% IPC improvement over the 7950X and the 7950X3D is that the 9950X and the 9950X3D are rumored to have a 6.5 GHZ max clock speed, with Ryzen 7800X3D temperatures. I hope in every way its true.

  • Your ad for a key company is a bad idea. These are pulled/harvested keys that actually have an expiry date. Well…..they don’t…..but these keys do. How is this? Why don’t they state this clearly on their site? My Tech Company does not trust these key sites. They’re a bit in the grey….a bit shady.

  • Gonna go from i7 9700k to the AM5 9000 series x3d. Mind blowing. Then get the next gen GPU afterwards. Currently a lil ol' RTX 3070.

  • i hope the ryzen 9000 apus are 50% moire power at grafics as ryzen 7000 bcz. play with a apu at 720p or 1080pp sucks at a 38-40" 1440p/4k monitor

  • I'm anxiously awaiting AMD's next desktop offering. I bought the 5950x for music production and I fell in love with it when fired up a previously ground-to-a-halt project and it was buttery smooth. I'm skipping the 7950 and will buy whatever the next thing is!

I've had Intel chips since the 90s and my first foray into the AMD world was pure joy.

I heard Apple Silicon is good for music production too, but as a mastering engineer and producer for two decades, my projects have become increasingly ridiculous.. especially in RAM usage. Some of the music sample instruments use gigabytes of RAM just to load up… and the cost of Apple memory is pure insult.. I'm needing 64GB and above just to open some music projects.
