Watch This BEFORE Buying A Gaming CPU!

As the gaming industry continues to evolve, the importance of a high-performance gaming CPU cannot be overstated. With the latest advancements in technology, it's essential to make an informed decision when choosing a gaming CPU. Here are some key points to consider before making a purchase:

**1. Compatibility with your motherboard**

Ensure your CPU is compatible with your motherboard. Check the socket type, chipset, and power requirements to avoid any potential issues.

**2. Core count and thread count**

A higher core count and thread count can improve gaming performance, but it's not the only factor. Consider your budget and the type of games you play.

**3. Clock speed and boost clock**

A higher clock speed and boost clock can provide a performance boost, but it may also increase power consumption and heat generation.

**4. Integrated graphics**

If you're looking for a CPU with integrated graphics, consider the quality and performance of the graphics core.

**5. Power consumption and cooling**

Consider the power consumption and cooling requirements of your CPU. A higher power consumption can lead to increased energy bills and heat generation.

**6. Overclocking capabilities**

If you're interested in overclocking, look for a CPU with a high overclocking headroom and a robust cooling system.

**7. Brand reputation and warranty**

Research the brand's reputation and warranty offered. A reputable brand with a good warranty can provide peace of mind.

**8. Price and value**

Compare prices and consider the value offered by different CPUs. A higher price doesn't always mean better performance.

**9. Future-proofing**

Consider the future-proofing of your CPU. Will it be able to handle upcoming games and technologies?

**10. Reviews and benchmarks**

Read reviews and benchmarks from reputable sources to get an idea of a CPU's performance in real-world scenarios.

By considering these factors, you can make an informed decision when choosing a gaming CPU. Remember to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the gaming industry to ensure you're getting the best performance for your money.**}**

  • Any recommendations for upgrading i5-11600kf+zotac 3070?

Thinking of keeping the 3070 and upgrade the rest until 50series dropped in price, is this a good time to build a amd system?

Looking to upgrade to ddr5 and a faster ssd.

  • I think the problem that has arised is, the technology being used to make the chips has reached its limits, and the speed of the cpu is not really going to get much faster.. it can perhaps be made to run more efficient, but its not really going to get smaller where the transistors are concerned.. now, new technology might change that, and perhaps some level of quantum computing may be the future, I just want a chip which works well and takes advantage of all the cores which it has..

  • If that ccd issues is fixed I think I’m going 9900x3d.

  • Me just building an new gaming pc
Alrady got the case and cpu
    Case phanteks xt ultra pro
    Cpu is ryzen 5 7500f
Gpu would be an 4060ti 16gb ore an 7900gre,4070

  • I'm still pretty happy with the 12900K… will be very interesting to see how the 9800x3d and 9950x3d perform though.. might be tempted to switch to team red… latency alone is a big draw.. Intel's latest release is looking pointless buy for most people, unless you're sat on 9th gen or something..

  • Windows 24H2 is buggy tho and having issues with easy anticheat among other issues for now. maybe wait a month or 2.

  • 7800X3D = Perfection, also if you wait for Black Fridays Sales you could get one for £200 or less. If I remember rightly I think last year it cost £150 – £180

  • CPU has next to no effect to the GPU performance for AMD/Nvidia. Zero, Zilch, Nada. Overall system performance will bring the level up but that is different. You can go from 1080p to 4k and the CPU usage won't change hovering around 50%. It will still do the most basic tasks regardless of resolution/GPU load. Personally if you have any top CPU from last 5 plus year you are good.

Only point is if you are using REBAR. Again just like E Cores the gain with REBAR for AMD/Nvidia. Zero, Zilch, Nada. +-5%. But for INTEL ARC architecture things start to change. Alchemist almost doubles it performance with REBAR on enabling the CPU to pair with ARC GPU to configure a two silicon architecture. It worked on AMD CPU but on INTEL CPU we are seeing 20% lift and with every driver update the gap is widening exposing the real potential of the Alchemist optimizing the pairing to INTEL CPU.

So lets take a step forward. X870 and Z890 boards will give direct lane PCI 5.0 to the CPU that you might want to call "REBAR on steroids". Now you can call this as true dual silicon performance/architecture for INTEL ARC. Hence the early launch for the X870 even that the CPU's are maybe coming 2025 if not at all. In real life this means no queuing or waiting. This means no stutter or broken frames. Comparing performance it means ARC 60FPS is better than 120FPS from AMD/Nvidia for gaming experience without stutter at high resolution/demand. In Wattage it means Arrow Lake 250-295W + Battlemage 250-275W = 500-570W combined power. Wattage in general = performance. AMD CPU would give you 170W max and loose 125W of performance in the worse case. Add to that no queuing and no waiting where every frame is good. 5080 for example 400W standalone card.

    Then we have the price.

    5080 $1200-1500 predicted + Ryzen 9 9950X $650 + X870/Ram $600 = $2450- 2750.

    Arrow Lake 285K $600 + Battlemage $500 + Z890 board/Ram $600 = $1700.

Plus I predict the ARC all INTEL combo will wipe the floor with AMD/Nvidia combo.

  • I upgraded to a new system 11 months ago (i7-14700K, 2TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, RTX 4080 ProArt, 32GB DDR5). Big upgrade from my 2016 system (i7-6700K, 1TB Samsung SATA SSD, GTX 1070, 16GB DDR4). I was gonna upgrade to an AMD CPU but I didn't like the motherboards so went with Intel.

  • i bought a 14900k for 400 brand new yesterday. After seeing gamers nexus show that intels new chipset loses performance I am good.

  • you probably wont see this but im buying a pc and have no clue what i want or need. i play roblox and like assetto corsa, but with tons of mods. i want like good fps and storage i have a budget of 2.5k i would just like a high fps strong pc 😅😅 tips?? im from the uk btw

  • TLDR, Intel won't take any crowns in gaming.

  • 24H2 has a lot of problems

  • imagine an amd 3d with 3500 flck

  • Any recommendations for upgrading i5-11600kf+zotac 3070?

Thinking of keeping the 3070 and upgrade the rest until 50series dropped in price, is this a good time to build a amd system?

  • Im building my first gaming pc and i ordered a 7700x cpu to pair with a 7900xtx gpu, was that the right decision or do i need to upgrade to an 7800x3d? Thanks 🙏

  • hi all, im getting a geforce rtx 4070 ti super, was wondering,
so , if im right in saying, does this mean if im going for a really high end cpu is AMD better slightly?
also, what if i only want to use an air cooler, is that fine with the best amd cpu?

  • Really feels like Intel are no longer trying to compete with AMD on gaming, and instead going after the productivity audience… Wouldn't be surprised to see them launch a dedicated gaming line in the coming year or two

  • The truth is that I have my Intel and it has worked very well for me, but if this is true, then it is a better option to opt for an AMD so that in the future you do not have problems and the processor does not degrade so quickly.

  • is a 4070 ti super fine with a i9-12900k?

  • It won't let me update Windows, and frankly I don't care why. Performance isn't worth the issues I have heard happening. So, until it gets forced out I will just enjoy my current performance. Haha😅

  • The benchmark numbers presented by AMD regarding the 8 and 15 core versions of the new X3D processors actually still show a better performance for the 8 core version. Now this was AMD bench mark numbers, and the last time they published those when the 9000 series were about to launch they were lying blatantly claiming incredible performance increase and totally spanking the Intel i9-14900K. This was quickly shown to be nothing but lies and the total performance increase, compared to the 7000 series, was more like 3% even though AMD want to claim it is 5%.. So AMD numbers. Think what you want about that. But do notice that they say the 8 core CPU is faster in games than their own more expensive16 core CPU. They might just be honest this time.

  • The Intel Core Ultra processors are neither good or bad compared to the older 13'th and 14'th series processors as performance in games are concerned. They are definitely different though. And no I'm not talking about over clocking at all. That might be great, but personally I can't see the big idea using it on a computer I'm using for anything but stressing benchmarks and nothing else. Over clocking depends on so many details, the chip lottery, the motherboard lottery, the memory lottery and so on. If you are lucky it can improve things greatly, but all these things have to be optimal both in design and in your luck with components used to build them. It's a lottery, don't think otherwise. And when overclocking there will be more risk of burning out the processor so keep those voltages in check or you might be one of the unfortunate ones who will have to buy a new CPU as the old one starts acting up.

Back to games performance. So far I have only seen the results that Intel has realesed intended to show that their fastest Core Ultra processor matches the 14900K in games performance. Someone calculated the values they released and in total the new processor was something like 2% slower, but as this was only something like 12 games tested that really don't mean a lot. Something that was more interesting was the games results. The four games losing performance more than 7% was all action games with 3D graphics while the three games gaining more than 6% performance were all turn based strategy games. One game, Total War: Warhammer something, gained something like 20% if I remember correctly. It was certainly the game that changed the most of all those that Intel listed and without that the total performance numbers shrank quite a bit. Now better performance in strategy games is great, if you think these games are way to slow at running the computers turn. Generally I don't feel that is a huge problem, but I do suffer in action games when performance dropps. This really don't say anything about other games not in the list or about future games, but it's interesting that these were the games Intel chose to show numbers for.

  • I think I have watched and performed benchmark since the 90s, and a 7500f over a 14700 is absolute horseshit or just cherry-picking bench for some agenda.

  • I have everything coming apart from a CPU still not sure what to get I want the 7800x3d but the prices are outrageous now

  • I'm still running 3700xt Ryzen 7 3080 rtx windows 10 1440p it's good enough

  • Does it affect performance for older generations of CPU's from AMD ? (Ryzen 5000/3000 & 2000 series)
