**Title:** NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 Shortages: What You Need to Know
**Introduction:**
The tech world has been abuzz with the recent announcement of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs. However, amidst the excitement, concerns have been raised about the availability of these high-end graphics cards. In this article, we'll delve into the current situation and explore what's causing the shortages.
**Shortage Causes:**
Several factors have contributed to the shortages of the RTX 5080 and 5090:
1. **High Demand:** The release of these powerful GPUs has generated immense interest among gamers and content creators, leading to a surge in demand.
2. **Supply Chain Issues:** The ongoing global chip shortage has affected the production and distribution of these GPUs, exacerbating the shortage.
3. **Limited Production:** NVIDIA has reportedly limited the production of these GPUs to manage demand and prevent oversaturation in the market.
**Impact on Consumers:**
The shortages have left many consumers frustrated, as they struggle to find these GPUs in stock. This has led to increased prices on the secondary market, making it even more challenging for those seeking to upgrade their systems.
**RTX 5070 Ti Launch:**
Rumors have been circulating about the potential launch of the RTX 5070 Ti, which could provide a more affordable alternative to the RTX 5080 and 5090. However, there is no official confirmation from NVIDIA regarding this launch.
**Conclusion:**
The shortages of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs are a result of a combination of factors, including high demand, supply chain issues, and limited production. As the tech industry continues to evolve, it's essential to stay informed about the latest developments and adjust your expectations accordingly. For now, consumers will have to wait patiently for these GPUs to become more widely available.**Sources:**

Don't worry. Nobody wants to buy these things. 5080 ~ 6% faster than 4080S, thanks but no thanks.
C'mon…we are not that stupid. This is not the first "shortage" BS. It's obvious it's done to make sure over expensive cards to sell out and boost demand .
Hey Paul, dont know if you will see this but OCUK said they have UNDER 10 5090's in stock for the launch…. unless nvidia has done some shenanigans with the FE then we are screwed.
Are FE cards limited? As in only a certain number r made? Also can u order one from a country that doesnt have them in any of the stores (some regions only get AIB cards in storefronts)? Its actually cheaper even with currency conversion to buy it from another country (wayy overpriced in some regions).
I'm rocking with a 4080 Super
"Huge 5080 and 5090 shortages"
Me, with no intention to buy : "I think I missed the part when you explain how that's my problem"
lol sure why not a shortage that's how you build the typical supply and demand crave on an unofficially reviewed product, i am sure their are many products that can be purchased at those price points hey. Absolutely no hopes here
Shocker. Fe edition not available. And only $2400+ models available
That Asus ad says the card has 192-bit bus , how is that?
Prices that aren't there. Efficiency that isn't there. In cards that aren't there. So, welcome to 2025!
I'm happy to wait for UDNA. Nothing seems really worth it this generation from a gaming perspective, now that's just my opinion.
My 3080ti seems like the best $1500 I have ever spent.
Can’t wait for the 5090 vs 5090 performance comparison
I forgot the 2080ti in my wife’s computer and a 3060 in work pc
With a 3080ti and 3090 in two of my computers and a 4080 and 4090 in my other 2 I have a surplus not a shortage
Nvidia is scalping their own customers now…
Will you be able to pre-order one on Nvidia website in more then 3 seconds this time around?
I guess not… LMAO
all the 5090s are with streamers
yawn on shortages.
Have you guys not noticed the pattern ever since even 20 series.
Less is More!
More profit for less product sales!
Less supply available to your average consumer, the bigger the shortage, the bigger the shortage the higher the price!
Supply and demand style.
To the point where even the Big Tech chain stores are in on the scam, charging way over the MSRP and closer to scalping prices.
Nvdia gets to make less but keep the profit margin high due to massive over pricing Wooo!
Its not okay.
Next console please think im swapping from pc at this rate.
No worry’s no one will buy except new customers😂😂
I just want the Chinese to make good enough GPUs to take away all the Nvidia/AMD sales in China so they lose a ton of money.
so funny how them youtubers pumping up the 5090 under the excuse of shortage so people would buy it….. pathetic sh*ts.
Nvidia purposely manufactured a supply shortage to jack the prices up. Pun definitely intended.
Just spoke to OverclockersUK , no 5090 stock at all for launch and they said they dont think there will be any in the UK at all for launch day
Good thing I plan my build for late this year…or early 2026 IF Nvidia decides to release 5070Ti Super 20GB
you think that's bad a 4070 ti super is going for 1400 on new egg and a 4070 super is going for 700 and 800 dollars this is the dumbest stuff i ever seen man i know it happens but they realy should be a price cap on hardware selling sites like you cant price above msrp and used stuff should be able to even be listed at msrp. that's how you stop scalping sites really need to cap the amount cards can sell for if not listed by retailer's instead of prices dropping on last gen it goes up that. I'm really about done with gaming all together. Im sick of this bull crap.
NVIDIA does that ON PURPOSE, as this is their common marketing strategy to increase demand and costs.
This way they'll know how much are people really willing to pay, so they can increase accordingly their next flagship, so the more people buy, the more they will increase and the more they'll be robbed.
I'm one , that is also NOT in a hurry, I want to see the REAL 5070(ti) performance first too ! So good job AMD / Radeon ! ( Never gonna buy an GPU, for more than $750,- anyway ! )
So, I don't care about the 5090 or 5080 ! And it gives me more time, to save up some more cash, for my new AMD build in March/April ! And Nvidia can kiss my @ss !!
5070ti should be a better choice, even 4090 is better for gamer. I will go for 5070ti, hope you guys will have higher chance to get 5090!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Redgaming tech shill 5090 so much and review came out and its even slower than 4090 is some cases at 25% premium. Still want shill? Oh yes its 25% faster at 25% premium on average. So good for performance per dollar after 2 years eh?
Feels like this shortage is entirely artificial. Even these videos/articles explaining it sound like bullshit to me. Just a way to incite audiences into buying more and selling out their stock to scalpers.
They've done additional testing, but the 5090 eats a lot more power than the 4090 did…so we'll see. I have zero trust in "take my word bro" from big tech.
Planned shortages. Absolutely no surprise whatsoever. Gpu manufacturers will stop at nothing to squeeze as much cash out of people as possible. Limited supply, price fixing, deception, planned obsolescence, collusion. There are no limits to what they will do.
Definitely not getting it day 1. I wanna see actual benchmarks, and potential launch day errors these things tend to have.
here we go again with the artificial shortages. I'm so done with nvidia.
They know these cards aint super popular, so Nvidia trying to starve supply to drum up hype.
Sorry, I'm not biting, these cards are pathetic and definitely a skip generation.
If i cant get a 5090 fe im not paying a premium for worse looking cards i will get a 5080 if its as quick as the 4090
Ill wait for reviews
OMG, AMD IS DOOMED…
