Title: Should You Hold Off for the RTX 5090 and AMD RDNA 4? A Look at the Latest GPU Supply Update

In the rapidly evolving world of technology, the question of whether to wait for the next big thing is a common one. This is particularly true in the realm of graphics processing units (GPUs), where the upcoming releases of the RTX 5090 and AMD RDNA 4 have sparked much anticipation. However, with the ongoing GPU supply shortage, the decision to wait or buy now becomes even more crucial.

The GPU market has been grappling with supply issues since late 2020, primarily due to the pandemic-induced disruptions in manufacturing and shipping. This has led to a scarcity of high-end GPUs, driving up prices and leaving many potential buyers frustrated.

As we look ahead, the release of the RTX 5090 and AMD RDNA 4 is highly anticipated. The RTX 5090, rumored to be Nvidia's response to AMD's Radeon RX 6900 XT, is expected to offer significant

  • Reminds me of all the people that sold their 2080's because the 3080 launched. Bit coin farms botted them all up. And now it's A.I.? Deja vu.

  • just get the 4090 and then when the new models drop then just those too. No big deal.

  • I think if the 5060 came with 10gb of vram, it qould quite a lot of the vram complaints that card gets. 12gb would be nicer to get, but still 10 can go a long way on low end cards.

  • That is the easiest question to answer.

Q: Should anyone wait for an Radeon GPU?

    A: NO!

  • what is the best VRAM per $ above 14GB?

  • Can you or anyone tell me how to get a 5090 FE when released? Seems like you have to be a Tuber/ reviewer or willing to pay 2x MSRP price from a scalper.

  • Wait for CPU’s and GPU’s to be under 100watts.

  • holding on to my 7900XTX Nvidia failed with their Super cards but won the wallets of the nvidiots. 5080 at best is going to be between a 4080 and 4090 just with better RT than the 4090. my card is gonna last awhile.

  • Will say goodbye to my 1080ti and hello to the 5090 😈

  • I'd buy a 6800 right now, but I know I'd end up upgrading right away to the 8800xt for the RT. I have a 2070 SUPER, and though the RT is passable for turning on reflections (if your card is capable of any RT at all, turn on RT reflections in your games it's worth it) but the VRAM is really bad. I can see textures popping in and out in multiple games, and my textures in Helldivers 2 are muddy AF.

I know the 6800 has slightly better RT than my current GPU, but I do want more and I ain't buying another VRAM starved GPU from NGreedia. Also Linux support is better with AMD.

So yeah, I want more RT, Nvidia's off the table for multiple reasons, and VRAM is really important to me, so I'll wait.

  • My PC is 9 years old and my GPU is the 2070 Super. I want to get back into streaming and it's hard for my PC to stream and game at the same time. I'm thinking of just doing a two PC set up, or might even gift my current PC. Was going to order a Lenovo Legion 7i with a 4080 Super for the Memorial Day sales, but I keep putting it off.

I'm going PC/STEAM DECK and Nintendo Switch for gaming moving forward, but might just stream my console games and wait for the new GPUs.

  • I still use a 580😅. But I only play Dota 2 and Diablo 4

  • The 7600 XT has probably sold worse in Europe and the UK because we have better supply of the RX 6700, 6700 XT, and 6750 XT. The RX 6750 XT is £300 and the RX 7600 XT is £320, so it's kind of a no-brainer. There aren't many situations where more than 12GB VRAM is particularly useful with GPUs this weak, and most people would be much better off with 15% better performance. And if you really want/need 16GB VRAM, the 6800 is £370 and 35% faster.

  • 6900xt on ebay is fantastic. Picked one up for $450 about a year ago and was totally worth

  • I have a 1660 super which can run most new games on my 1440p screen at 60fps at medium settings. Gonna wait fot GTA 6 to come out for pc and then I'll upgrade.

  • See if the connectors melt again before I buy 5080 or 5090

  • $400 6800xt for me when rdna3 launched. And just recently about a $245 6700xt off eBay for a secondary pc, no driver issues, I have ran into issues that were created from myself which was corrupted drivers from not properly uninstalling previous drivers completely but that was when I was getting used to amd switch from my old 2060.

  • just bought a 7800 xt couple months ago. that was an upgrade from a gtx 1080, lol. yeah, i'm pretty patient.
