Well its going to be 3 more weeks and we know if you talk bs bro
This is well needed for VR or triple monitors, can’t wait and coming from a 4080 hoping the 5090 is twice as good
I’m honestly not buying Nivdia GPus because I don’t need the DLSS and RayTarcing which causes so much latency. Frame gen could be good but not at such ridiculous prices.
If the 5000 series gets a VRAM Bump and gets rid of the stupid 16 pin connector I might consider at the right price and is faster than the AMD counterparts.
However I think it’s going to launch at higher prices with the same VRAM config with the same stupid 16pin connector
So honestly I’m just going with AMD with the trustworthy 8pins.
I still have a 9900k with a 3090ti. I can still play 1440p and 4k Cyberpunk maxed out. I cant even imagine these newer cards. Hoping my card lasts awhile for 1440p . Anything higher seems crazy. 8k seems unbelievable.
The 5080 wont be available at msrp for 12 months after realease. Scalpers will buy them all up adding +- $400 to the price. Im starting to think these scalpers are actually nvidia employees. A shadow way of making. Even more money for each card while maintaining value in scarcity.
That means, they will test the market with "5080" (or, 5070 in reality) and leave the 5090 (or, 5080 in reality) for 2025. That, what should be the REAL 5090, will go for more profitable AI chips. Gamers won't ever see the full dye.
$1,200 for the 4080 is one of several reasons I decided to go with the $1,000 7900XTX
I'm getting sick of all the hype and speculation , I just want better videogames to get made using whatever we have , I haven't felt truly satisfied and happy about a single year In this Industry since 2004 If not earlier.
I use an 8K TV form Samsung for gaming, after 8K you don't want back to lower resolution like 4K or 1440p. I am excited for the 5090 for 8K gaming
I use the cards for machine learning you can't have enough vram, i want cards with 48gb, 80gb and more.
Some people want to play Cyberpunk in 4k at 200+ FPS with Ray tracing. They are morons, but they exist. Hence the 5090.
If you ask me the 7x00x3d, 13/14900k and 4090 all melting is a sign of an industry in distress. An industry that's lost its way.
At $1000 the 5080 would be a steal!
Then you have VR headsets… Here when 5090 comes handy.
The PCVR crowd are all patiently waiting for this
It's needed for pathtracing
5080 launch will be one hell of a shitshow
They better fix the cable over heating issue.
I'm waiting to see if eventually after 5000 series launch, many months after if the 4080 will drop in price. The 4070 ti super has a 256 bit bus so it should be close to a 4080 / super. Nvidia is using DLSS magic to squeeze more performance, they want as much money per card as possible. If Nvidia does launch something in 2024 it would likely only be the 5090 or 5080 as a very light paper launch. They are more concerned with making money in the AI hype and spreading out supply so prices stay high. Nvidia is scamming gamers. We will see what unfolds. I'm focusing more on Intel Arc, I have ollama > llama3 working on an i5 13600K alone. Adding in Arc support. Ping me yo.
Nvidia released the 3080 16gb to China during the 3000 series release and we didn't find out about it until a year or two later. We need to find out if Nvidia is releasing 5000 series first in China. Turn your search lights on.
Does AMD still say no high-end RDNA 4? Just gotta beat the competition. With inflation it makes sense to delay the halo product.
I skipped the 40 series because of the connector issues… I don't trust the connector melting in a 4090 even if you perfectly connect the GPU, I'm waiting to see how they plan on powering it or what the connector will be…
Surprised they never released a 4080Ti with 20 GB VRAM at 1300 buck or 1400 bucks that was faster then a 4080 Super but just under a 4090…
Somehow Nvidia will want to release the 5080 first so that they'll have an excuse to exponentially markup the price of the 5090.
I can wait for the 5090 as I'm squeezing every bit of juice out of my 4090 as we know it.
5090 won't be a 5090.
They'll use those to add to their AI stack. We will get 5080 called a 5090.
