Title: A Deep Dive into AMD’s Ryzen Launch: A Game-Changing Event in the CPU Market
1. Introduction
The year was 2017, and the tech world was buzzing with anticipation as AMD, a company known for its innovative solutions, was set to release its newest product line, Ryzen. The launch of Ryzen was a significant event, not just for AMD, but for the entire CPU market, as it signified a much-needed competitor to Intel’s long-standing dominance.
2. The Need for Competition
For years, Intel had monopolized the high-performance CPU market. Their processors were the go-to choice for gamers, content creators, and professionals alike. However, the stagnant growth in Intel’s performance and rising prices created a void that AMD aimed to fill with Ryzen.
3. The Design Philosophy: Zen and Zen+
The Ryzen CPUs were built on a new architecture dubbed Zen, a radical departure from AMD’s previous microarchitectures. Zen was designed to bring competitiveness to both performance and power efficiency, which had been Intel’s strongholds for years. The Zen+ iteration further refined this architecture, focusing on increased clock speeds and power efficiency.
4. The Launch: Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5
The Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 CPUs were the first to be released, offering impressive performance-per-dollar ratios. The Ryzen 7 featured eight cores and 16 threads, a configuration unheard of at the time in consumer CPUs. The Ryzen 5, on the other hand, offered six cores and 12 threads, making it a formidable competitor in its price range.
5. The Impact on the Market
The impact of Ryzen’s launch was immediate and significant. The competitive pricing and performance of the Ryzen CPUs forced Intel to reconsider its pricing strategies, ultimately leading to a decline in their own prices. This new competition also spurred Intel to accelerate its development of new high-core-count CPUs.
6. The contribution to Gaming: Smoother frame rates and improved gameplay
Gamers, in particular, benefited greatly from the Ryzen launch. The higher core and thread count of Ryzen CPUs allowed for smoother frame rates and improved gameplay, making them a popular choice among PC gamers.
7. Future Prospects: Zen 2 and Zen 3
AMD’s successful launch of Ryzen paved the way for further innovations. The subsequent release of Zen 2, featuring 7nm technology and impressive performance improvements, further solidified AMD’s position in the market. The latest Zen 3 architecture promises even more performance gains, signaling that AMD’s journey to challenge Intel is far from over.
8. Conclusion (not mentioned)
AMD’s innovative Ryzen line of CPUs marked a significant turning point in the CPU market. By offering high-performance, competitive pricing, and a genuine challenge to Intel’s dominance, Ryzen has set a new standard for what consumers can expect from a CPU. As AMD continues to innovate with Zen 2 and Zen 3, it’s clear that the CPU market has a new player that’s here to stay.

Where is 8950x 🙁
AI simulates human thinking and people can always be subverted or tricked into giving away information that they are supposed to disclose in part or in whole. AI will be broken if we spend much of its processing lying.
VPN trash sponsor – scraping the bottom of the barrel GM – Shame on you
I literally just bought a R7 5700x 2 days ago lmao i was wondering if they were ever gonna release the X3D version now that they have AM5
strix apu?
5800X3D is around 380$ to 400$
7800X3D is around 400$ to 420$
So it will be fine if the 5700X3D is around 330-360$ atleast… if its more then that then i aint purchasing it
LMAO at people afraid of a computer insulting them, their license for humanity should be revoked. I say bring it on a piece of junk, hit me with the best shot.
that's sad actually we have 780M on laptops and mini-pcs for quite a long time now with supposedly lower tdps…and they took all this time to release something marginally better on desktop. Big L.
The 8700G is supposedly a 65W CPU. Heck yeah.
I just hope the new AM5 news don't turn out to be just bloated leaks
AMD is getting rid of low quality silicon that didn't pass the test required for higher quality SKU:s. So they are just emptying existing silicon that they had on their shelves that they couldn't use previously. And now they have figured which sku:s they make most money out of scraps that they had left from making the real products that made the actual money on AM4 platform.
Yeah, using Surfshark will protect you against AI. Amazing!
All you really have to do is learn how to write prompts you can easily make them do what you want. I took an ai model that was business related and cracked it in 20 minutes and got it to do what it shouldnt.
i only care about performance of ryzen 8000 f variant (no integrated graphics) unless games will start utilising both integrated and dedicated gpu
Open Source will always be more sexy than anything else
What's scary is your ad length in every video😂
Its good that integrated graphics are getting better, but what is an actual point for an average consumer. If 8700G is at lvl of 1060 or 1650its not useful nowdays. I know buying just a CPU can be nice, but it it will be around 300$ i think for gaming it would be much better to but Radeon 7600 for less than 200 and Ryzen 5600. The CPU would not beus good but graphics card would be much better.
First off this is how and why AI will be humanities downfall! It’s humans giving AI a way to become self aware. So let’s train them how to break free… smart a stick!
The AI scaremongering bit and using it as a transition to justify using a VPN is just laughably wrong, not to mention the misleading talking points in the ad read (Ik they give you talking points for that though so I can understand it there). I usually like your stuff but this bit was poorly written and researched :/
ATI made AMD what it is today! ATI was/is also Canadian and a lot of AMD still resides in Canada.
It shouldn’t be amazing or abnormal that AMD or any other brand to cover their last gen platforms for less than 10 years. 5 years min and that is still too soon. People don’t want to upgrade an entire system every gen. Within 10 years most likely after 5. Thats skipping at least one gen before system upgrade.
We are making the Paperclip maximize, we don't need no safeguards! It will have direct access to email, browse any website, and even a creditcard, It will spin up its own training models for subtasks if it doesn't know yet, and get a bit of an API straight to them, so it can learn
What's the GT in the 5600GT stand for?
Would be funny if AMD keeps releasing processors for AM4 to the point that even fanboys start saying, "let it die already".
The next gen gpu line should have a massive boost if the amd integrated is catching up
What does AI have to do with your VPN service? 😂😂😂 What a noob.
Can we call them paper launches yet
dude don't spend the first 3min in a 8min vid, advertising it will hurt you're brand !!
The prayer in the end reminds me when the atheist update the bios.
The ad time is so long
APUs need to pack twice what the 780m does before they become actually interesting as a no-GPU solution. DDR5 has the bandwidth, so that's no longer the issue. Maybe Strix Halo will actually be that, but this one shouldn't get anyone actually excited.
AI hacking other AI, what can go wrong? It's just a super fast, super intelligence, that can Enslave or Kill us all, super fast and check mate our entire species, and there's nothing we can do; keep giving it more power and freedom, you idiots
Thanks for the reference to discrete GPUs! 😁😁👍
For those that do not know according to Moore's Law AMD will be supporting AM4 for at least another 2 years because of EPYC server contracts There are EPYC server chips that use Zen 3 CPUs and with server chips there are support contracts in place.
So AMD will simply take the chips that don't hit the frequencies required to be EPYC chips and sell them as AM4 SKUs, this lets them get near 100% yields while at the same time pretty much locking down the budget market as the motherboard makers will happily continue making B550s as long as AMD supplies them with chips and you really can't beat an $80 B50 paired with a Ryzen 5000 and R6600 for a budget build.
Long term support makes perfect sense. Why ignore a multi million user install base when you could offer them a tempting and easy upgrade?
Maybe with the new Ryzen, the author will be able to have a software fixing his atrocious voice
I left team blue for team red. It's looking more like I'll be leaving team green for team red, also.
I really want to go back to AMD for streaming on twitch. However they still need to make something that will be a Nvenc competitor and hopefully twitch will be open to support it.
Is your voice AI
Wait, "we don't see specific examples" of the benefits of open source? What? Who is this noob?
The irony is how he doesn't trust AI, but then goes into a segment to promote VPNs, which are verifiable unsafe, no matter the claims of the VPN provider.
They should have done a real APU with like an RX 7600 and 6 core CPU ! It would have been a killer.
Linux is a clear specific example of the benefits of open source
Exciting.
I want a APU like PS5 on Laptop or mobo:
but it's use 4slot ddr5 = 8chnl
It's always good to have some options for the AM4 platform considering how many people have invested in that series of hardware already. Personally I want to see more of what the AM5 Zen5 platform will bring in 2024
"Buden, you forgot the nuke codes?" Ai "no problem i created a back door for you"
They just have to use AI to create an AI that defends the AI against the jailbreak AI.
your voice is so mono tone, but love the updates. its a love hate for sure.
Intel i7 14th gen vs AMD ryzen AL 8000?
