This wasn't a gaming conference. AI is important because they need to prepare for different types of computation load.
There's a legit need for AI, anyone in data centre and even energy know big corps are pouring huge money in to secure space and energy
8 Cores 16 threads 5.5Ghz, but only 65 TDP is pretty insane
Now we wait for 3D cache options. I honestly don't even see a point in AMD CPU without it. It's day and night difference in too many scenarios.
instead of the mobile 'AI' CPUs would have been nice if they release a CPU with more than 28 PCI lanes, so you can build a decent AI rig with it…
Is it worth buying a 7800X3D right now with these new CPUs coming out? Or is it smarter to wait and see how powerful these new CPUs are?
This all feels a bit rushed to me, seems like they wanted to be first to shout AI.
seems like there is a good psilocybin mushroom party at AMD's naming department
ofc nvidia will be against it even keller said that ethernet would be sufficient for what they do
Quite a boring Computex, where are the excitemnet days when a Commodore 64 or Amiga where released. It has become like you have to eat oat meals every single day.
so disappointed with amd we were supposed to get 3nm with more pcie lanes, cores and clock, and imc, fabric. these arent even as good as i 13900k 😡
My 5800X already runs at 4850MHz. What even is the upgrade with the new 5800XT ??
As an AM4 user, I am beyond satisfied ❤
Idk, i get the naming, the "AI" is replacing the "R" in the commercial sector, everything else is pretty much the same
Who's this "Andy" guy ?
Are the AI9 HX 370/365 the Z1/Z1 Extreme replacements? Wonder if these appear in handhelds (considering the Ally X just came out without them) and if they'll be meaningfully better given that RDNA3 to 3.5 doesn't seem to be a big jump (but there are 4 extra CUs). Also how this stacks up against the new Snapdragon chips and are those viable in handhelds.
At this stage. im questioning if i should just save my money and go with an AM4 instead of going AM5. Motherboards are cheaper, DDR4 is cheaper…
so just wait for 9000 3D chips then. if theres anything i've learned, non-3D chips are just a waste of money if gaming on ryzen.
Gotta say it does sound weird when you say nomenclature, but thanks for the cpus' headsup.
The "upkeep" of am4 is for more budget limited markets, where am4 chipsets are still aplenty, but buying am5 is a like 4x price hike. I'm glad to see them do it
My 5900x doesn't need a 5900xt upgrade, I know it's 4 more cores but it's not a new architecture, so not worth sending extra..
5900xt also has a lower base speed..
New Am4 cpus 7 years later? Am5 support till 2027? Amd fans eating good this year
