Imagined peaceful world where AMD does same cracking job with their GPUs and hegemony of 'others' will be thing of the past
Just simple fact AMD is crushing Craptel and they still support ancient plafrotm, in what universe Craptel would do such non loot box corporate decision
x6000 to a x8000 , so also a jump in evolution in board power control with xe being the higher core clocks sustained
5900XT and 5800XT on AMD so said pricing was low enough to push all Vermeer in the channel down in price so at so said $359 and $249 now pulled, that the channel might not have been happy with that regulating price umbrella ON how much R5K there is too clear from the channel is up + 68% since March 9th when R5K was 68% of all R7K and NOW, today, this week, R5K is 98% of R7K available. R7K since March 9th is up in supply available + 18%. R9K will minimally have to dribble out allowing R7K and R5K to clear. R9K might have to be priced up on some SKUs to accomplish the same objective. Notably, 3600 gains in the channel + 94% in the prior month, 3600X is les but still came up + 35%. 3700X is up + 15.8% that is all trade in. So, AMD might have to adjust 9K top SKU and 7K regulating SKU price differently NOT to mess with the channel ability to properly liquidate especially Vermeer SKUS from channel inventory holding plus of course the R7K SKUs that will follow in a first in first out channel sales system. mb
AMD4 is like todays commadore 64 🤣
I think the last socket that got anywhere near the supported time-frame that AM4 has is probably Socket 7/Super Socket 7 which in the latter years again was mainly supported by AMD with their K5 and K6 series CPU's featuring speeds all the way from 75Mhz to 550Mhz. This is pathetic by modern standards but back in the day that was a huge range of frequencies for one standard to support.
i am more excited over the new Intel Lunar lake 120 TOPS but would like to see a comparison
I am waiting for the new x3d models. Those could be realy wild…hopefully
The real show begins when AMD releases the Zen 5 Threadrippers.
Too bad there isn't a place that will try to build you the most inexpensive PC.
NZXT too expensive for me.
Sounds like an interesting product. I hope 3D V-Cache is featured on both CCDs with Zen 5 so that a supposed 9950X3D doesn't have the same problems as Zen 4.
Very good ! ❤❤❤
AM 4 is the amd version of 14nm… it just won’t die 😂
Okay i am interested now in am5
Why would I buy a 5900XT instead of a 5950x? I don't get it. Its worse performing, isn't it?
I don't know about the numbers but the Intel 13600K is the minimum standard desktop processor for gaming. It does not empty the bank, has great single core performance, respectable clocks and acceptable power consumption. Anything that competes against it has to match the price and outperform it by 15-20% minimum while being a little or a lot faster in real world performance else I would not buy it. Sub 300$ Intel is still King… X3Ds are all right for games but single core performance mid level Intels still outperform so they are better microprocessors in my opinion.
Not that much difference from last gen clock speed etc.
I would like to see what the Linux support for the CPU's are going to be like. F*** Microsoft.
9000X3D when, tho? 🤔🤔
Why even bother with E cores… Just disable them and game on P cores. The end. Immediate performance boost in gaming.
On the topic of AMD, 9900x looks enticing, but real world benches/performance is what's important. 10% boost in gaming is nothing. Do the math. If you are all about Benchmarking, eg Cinebench, you are doing something wrong.
Intel will always have better 1% lows, that will prevent you the most from stuttering. AMD in fps has high highs, but low lows. Pick your poison carefully.
Just built my first amd build 5950x with a 1080 ti and only getting 11-20fps idk whats wrong
10:40 …. Hell yeah… I was running an FX8150 since launch, up until BF2042/CODMW2 launched, was still managing 60 FPS at 1080p on that CPU paired with a RX590, even in warzone…
it was originally built with a HD6990, the one with two dual GPU cores on one board, that was a power hungry hot card, two 880mhz cores with 4GB VRAM back in 2010 was it. Luckily I did the drop in upgrade to a RX590 just before it went daft, got it for £140…. a few months later they were selling for £500-600
Intel is like "we can't compete against AMD so we'll just go after Nvidia". Their new GPU's Battlemages look very very impressive for it's proice range and in some cases it's possible to be better than AMD GPU's.
I went with an Intel build for my 4090/i9 14900k build and the shader compiler errors have made my Unreal Engine dev really annoying
but they dont do 6ghz yet?
Gonna have to buy a new mount bracket for my liquid cooler if going for an i7 15700KS.
Next we will get a 5950XT3D
Im confused. Is he implying the 5900xt & 5800xt are zen 4.5 cpus that work for AM4.
Iam playing on notebook but planning to build new PC…i would like to see good Intel processors, i have Ryzen 4600H in my notebook and i get random blue screens etc. I dont think iam going AMD.😊
CPU scheduling should not be in the game dev hands. That should only ever be at the OS level. So if a CPU has problems with scheduling, that's more an OS problem, and if game devs are doing things to fix it, that's them patching holes in the OS. Because the OS controls process scheduling, full stop. I remember Bulldozer having similar problems because of their paired cores, and Microsoft dragging their feet fixing their scheduler.
When are 9950x3d expected to be released?
Gigabyte MoBo bro ftw! Just saying
