if they are only making a few thousand of these, how much effort will be expended into the bios required to use them?
So, the closest Micro Center is 300+ miles away. Any chance you can pick one up for me the next time you go there?🤣🤣🤣
So cool! Would love to upgrade my lil bros pc with one of these
Ill travel the 4 hours if its at the right price
I had a choice of making 2 new AM5 systems and decided the 200.00+ x 2 cost savings was worth it since no gaming cpu really crushes these in anything. MB, DDR5 (I got 64 gigs and 32 gigs) plus the issues with some DD5 systems made it a easy choice. Id rather have older stable system with bugs ironed out. And its been perfect on both systems with the 5600x3d. No regrets no desire for am5 in maybe 4 years yes.
I can say Micro Centers Formula does work. I went there and had ZERO intention of buying anything but the bundle deal same with others that went with me. Once you are there you will get caught up in the fun hype and banter with other people. I ended up getting extra ram, case, power supply that were not on sale. I knew that i could get them maybe a few dollars cheaper but it was worth the price of admission and I would much rather support Micro Center than Amazons business model. Micro Center is fun and you are with a ton of like minded people. I had a great time there. Its worth the drive for sure great experience that can only be had in person not on the internet.
Note: If you buy the 5600 x3d in the bundle (I did so did the person with me) the chip is not 229.00 its 172.00. The motherboard of the bundle is a asus tuff 550 plus wifi II v2 that has a 2 month old bios date. Means it was built for this deal its ready to go with the 5600x3d no need to update anything.
Pretty cool project from amd for a unique item. Can buy a great pc for really cheap using this. Micro center was the clear choice. Warranty better replace with 5800x3d if stock runs out
As a Canadian, it was cool when you mentioned MemoryExpress. I love going there to get my PC stuff here in Canada. 🙂 I live in Edmonton and there are TWO locations in my city alone! I had no idea there were SO FEW Microcenters; wow! Just bought myself a Gigabyte Eagle RTX 4070 OC, an i5 13600K, a Gigabyte Aorus FO48U 48" OLED 4K 120hz gaming monitor, and a Gigabyte Aorus Z790 Elite AX DDR4 motherboard. Nothing INSANE, but there was NO WAY I was going to spend literally 2X the amount of money to upgrade to a 4080 or 4090 with a 13900K. Absolutely NO CHANCE. But all that said, I'm upgrading from a B360M motherboard, a GTX 1650 Super OC, and an i5 9400F. LOL. The upgrade has been absolutely MIND-BLOWING. <3 It's fun upgrading one's computer only once every 4-to-5 years; because the upgrade in that amount of time is massive. Upgrading after a year or two is hardly worth it (in my personal opinion). I also just upgraded my smartphone like 6 months ago from an S8, to an S22Ultra, lol… Love your content, Jay! (PS. The 1650 Super had 4GB of ram, and the 4070 has 12GB ram. The upgrade has been substantial.)
Microcenter needs to put a store near me. Perhaps over near State College PA, lots of well off college kids over there to buy computers and parts.
was about the thumb this down when I head the name microcenter…but this is not jay's fault. Screw microcenter
I’m looking at this now.. they have it on a bundle special for 329 with mobo and ram
The just tells you how much AMD fails. Lol.
Wait. Since it will be only launched at Microcentre that means it will not be avaible in Europe, right? Man, I wanted to build a new pc for my wife with this cpu…
Poor Jay.
AMD will hold chips for warranty. In the event they do run out, they would give you an equal or better art just like every other warranty policy.
Twice I've watched your channel this week, and twice now I've been listening about products (or giveaways) that won't be available to me living in Quebec. :p
Soooooooooooo this is a US-only release? Nothing for anyone outside the US?
1080p gaming 😊
Will buy this CPU for my friend as a birthday present because he still uses a 3600X with his RTX 3080 😂
Just fyi for anyone who might have a similar mobo, I have a gigabyte b550i aorus pro ax mobo, and I did not have to make any changes to bios when installing the 5600x3d. I had a 5900x before, but broke pins so went with the 5600x3d for a cheap replacement. This processor has support on this motherboard since bios update F10, and we are on F17 now. For anyone who will be in the same situation, looking to change processors.
If all you do is play games Ryzen 7 5800x3d for around $300 now is a great option for anyone who want to get another 2 to 3 years out of there AM4 Platform.
this cpu sounds like the rotisserie chicken at costco, it gets you in the door to spend money on other things
6000 series for desktop?
I have a 5900x with a 4090 gpu, is it worth swapping for the 5800x3d?
I'm confused by this because the 5800x3d is mentioned as supported by my motherboard, but not the 5600x3d or the 5900x3d.
I still don't understand why one would buy the 5600x3d when the same board supports the 5800x3d.
What about the 5700x3d am4 CPU is it an upgrade
I call BS on AMD and MicroCenter. This would fit my needs perfectly but I'm not driving hundreds of miles to try and get one.
so i am still running a 4th gen 4820k with a P9x79ws mobo and a 1080ti. building a new pc on a am4 platform is still ok? or go with am5?
Love my Ryzen 3700x
Just went from 5900X to 5800X3D to 5800X to 7600X. 3D was nice and kept my 6900XT utilized better then the 5800X/5900X but the 7600X is running great and runs in game locked 5450mhz which is 1000mhz more then the 5800X3D ran. GPU utilization with the 7600X is great as well. Glad I sold my 5800X3D and x570 board. Actually spent less then $50 out of pocket which included excellent CL30 6000mt ram and a x670 Aorus board.
The whole land is ours, Palestinians don't want israel anymore
i got an ASUS B650EF and jay was right to drop them
a AMD ryzen 9 7900x
and 32GB gskill flare X5 for $550.00 at one point it was just $500.00
the board fryed the CPU micro center fixed it works awesome now
30min from micro center lolz annnnd im broke
Haha, and now a 5500x3d and 5700x3d and a 5600GT! We also now know the 5600x3d is either a poor seller or they had a lot more than they said, because they're still selling them at a discount today.
Is there a follow up video now ? Dec 23 ?
what a time to be alive and amazing timing too. i recently spent my bday money ona new build and i decided to use my 5950x that i had sitting on the shelf. pairing it with a 7800 xt. This definitely is great just in case i need a new cpu in the future 😀 .
this would be a good upgrade on the cheap im using amd 2700x
The 5600X3D is just an excuse for AMD not to lower the price of the 5800X3D…
