I'm shopping for components for a tower to supplant my ASUSⓇ CM1630 Essentio Seriesᵀᴹ mini-tower (Athlon IIⓇ X2 220 on a M4A78L-M/CM1630/DP_MB built around a 760G north bridge and SB700 south bridge). The VDA built around an nᴠɪᴅɪᴀⓇ GPU I plan to use has me limited in terms of PSU selection. My preliminary longlist:
ASUS PRIME X770-P-CSM w/ AMDⓇ RYZEN9 8900G (under a ThermaltakeⓇ fansink souped up with a ø120mm Delta fan), quad DDR5-5600 ECC UDIMMs.
(For AI algorithms, to free the TUF VDA's AD103 for graphics.)
One PCIe 5.0 x4 SSD of 1 TB capacity under fansink for Windows PE.
Two CrucialⓇ PCIe 4.0 x4 SSDs of 2 TB capacity per each, under heat spreaders (one for the primary OS, one for program files).
One ASUS BD-RW16D1 optical R/W drive.
Two Western DigitalⓇ SATA3 HDDs (probably WD2000FYYX) for frequently overwritten User data.
One ASUS TUF GAMING RTX4080TI-12G VDA.

As overpowered as Blackwell is, AMD’s MI400X will make it look mild in 2025. Seen concept pictures on MLID, it’s beyond crazy in the good way.
so much for ryzen ai npu….only to be disabled by manufacturers.. like my ryzen 7 7840hs on the legion slim 7. The NPU (IPU) driver couldn't even be installed.

Dear AMD – just saw GI1.1 demo. Get this to Starfield as tech demo asap. You may not have as much muscle as the other guys but you can win with early access. Modders will do the rest. Remember Xiaomi – geeks gather community. The other guys have shown radiance caching screenshot of Cyberpunk – where is your screenshot of Starfield?

I am still hoping somebody make better AI for npcs in games. Cus that it’s one thing that hasn’t got better. If anything NPCs in so many games has gotten worst or dumber.
Why can’t that make chips that give games better AI in games.
